Iceland
Iceland in high summer is a country of long evenings and running water. This sequence follows the ring road clockwise, roughly the way we drove it: from Reykjavík and Þingvellir out to Kirkjufell on the Snæfellsnes peninsula, across the green north to Goðafoss and the sulphur slopes of Námafjall, past the grey roar of Dettifoss and down through the clouded eastern fjords.
In the south-east the glaciers come almost down to the road, and the lagoons at Fjallsárlón and Jökulsárlón fill with drifting blue ice. The last frames belong to the south coast, with black sand at Reynisfjara, Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, then a detour to the Westman Islands and a final stop on the Reykjanes peninsula, not far from the airport.
